The family was raised in Rochester, New York, Sharp was a music enthusiast and was a clarinet player, piano, and cello at the highly regarded Hochstein School of Music. Sharp's passion for theatre in high school was what led her to the Boston Conservatory, where she received the scholarship. Cum Laude, where she earned the B.F.A.
