Coleman was raised in the Lancashire town of Blackpool. She went to Arnold School Blackpool as head girl. She also scored all As in her A-level exams. When discussing her Emmerdale appearance Coleman acknowledged that she regretted not going to the university. Coleman appeared on Crystal Clear at the Edinburgh Festival as part of a group called In Yer Space, which she participated in while at the school. Along with receiving a prize for her acting skills, the show she performed was well received. Coleman was offered the role as Jasmine Thomas at Emmerdale while trying out for drama classes in 2005. Coleman was awarded two awards in the year 2007. She won The Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards and Most Popular Newcomer at the National Television Awards. In 2009, at the British Soap Awards she was recognized in the Best Actress Sexiest Female and Best Dramatic Performance categories. Coleman received a TV Choice Award for Best Actress. Steven Moffat of Doctor Who announced in a news meeting held on the 21st march 2012, that Coleman was to replace Karen Gillan after she and Arthur Darvill had left. Moffat said that he chose Coleman for the role of companion due to her ability to be the best companion for Smith. Also, Moffat noted that she talked faster than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. She's been working in the industry for over 30 years and is involved in numerous TV and film projects. But she's had a greater presence on television rather than in movies. Out of all the characters Eva has appeared in on television shows like Dr. Maria Santos in All My Children and the detective Natalia Boa Vista' in CSI Miami are the two that make an impression. In the latter, she even received two 'Daytime Emmy' nominations and allowed her to explore her creativity in music. In addition to being an actor, Eva is also a charitable philanthropist, as well as an entrepreneur. She was married three times and also has a daughter with her first husband.
